In the mountainous region of northern Wuyuan lies a beautiful village — Guankeng. It is the largest natural village in Duanxin Township, located more than 70 kilometers from the county seat. If you’re looking to enjoy the mountains and waters, it’s definitely a great destination.

As you enter the village, a “Y”-shaped river comes into view. Two crystal-clear streams run through the village, dividing it into three large sections, before converging and flowing into the alpine plateau lake of Duanxin. Various fish swim playfully in the clear waters, seemingly playful with visitors. The entire village is surrounded by pristine forests, giving it a serene and peaceful atmosphere. Along the river, there are two ancient stone-paved paths — one leads to Zheyuan Township in the same county, and the other goes straight to Xiuning and Huangshan in Anhui Province. In the days when transportation was inconvenient, these ancient paths served as provincial and national highways, bustling with travelers. Towering ancient trees line the roadsides, and mountain springs can be found everywhere. When you’re tired, sit and rest on the stone slabs under the old trees; when you’re thirsty, take a sip of the mountain spring to soothe your throat. It’s fair to say that every drop of mountain spring water here is like the finest mineral water.
