Dashan Mountain Wolong Valley Scenic Area is the pride of the “Most Beautiful Countryside.” Nestled within the Dashan Mountain Range, the valley features cascading waterfalls glistening like silver and jade, emerald pools and serene ponds, towering and uniquely shaped peaks and rocks, as well as pristine ecological surroundings and traditional folkways—altogether forming a natural ink-wash landscape painting, a majestic and stirring symphony of wilderness, a longed-for holy land and idyllic retreat for city dwellers, a picturesque earthly paradise in the style of Jin Yong’s novels, and a true Shangri-La.

A natural ink-wash landscape painting:

The scenic area transforms with different colors across the four seasons. In spring, mountain flowers bloom in riotous profusion; in summer, crystal-clear springs babble; in autumn, red maples dye the hills; and in winter, everything is covered in ice sculptures. The high mountain valleys are dotted with clusters of waterfalls and interconnected colorful pools that reflect and enhance one another. Purple-hued mountains, green trees, white waterfalls, and multicolored deep pools together create a natural ink-wash landscape painting.

A majestic and stirring symphony of wilderness:

Within the valley, “trees grow on rocks, rocks rise from the water, waterfalls cascade down cliffs, and springs sing through the mountains.” At the valley’s entrance, skillfully shaped rocks dot the landscape, streams murmur gently, leaves sway delicately, and pools lie tranquil and serene. Venturing deeper, the flowing springs meander along the mountain terrain, swirling and twisting—sometimes flowing freely like sheer white silk, other times dancing like a flying dragon, exuding elegance. Further ahead, a waterfall over a hundred meters high cascades unrestrainedly with unrestrained vigor, showcasing its bold character. As a result, the valley fills with intertwining mist and water vapor, while sparkling droplets collide like crystals, creating what seems like a majestic and wild symphony.

A longed-for holy land and idyllic retreat for urban dwellers:

With a forest coverage rate as high as 96.7%, Dashan Mountain Wolong Valley Scenic Area serves as a vast natural oxygen bar. Additionally, the developers have designed several kilometers of scientifically planned, diverse, and reasonably built walking trails and guardrails. The rustic thatched cottages, classic tea houses, and exquisitely crafted stone huts scattered along the journey make the experience feel close to life and nature.

As the saying goes: “Mountains and waters have no fixed owners—the leisurely are their true masters.” Trekking up the stream, you can wade through mountain springs, feel the awe-inspiring rush of high waterfalls, listen to birds chirping and springs singing, and breathe in the fresh air—a truly marvelous experience. Dashan Mountain Township: Dashan Mountain Township, located in the northern part of Wuyuan County, known as the “Most Beautiful Countryside in China,” gets its name from the majestic Dashan Mountain within its borders.
