Chaping Village is located in Tuochuan Township, Wuyuan, known as one of the most beautiful villages in China. It was established in the early Ming Dynasty. The village got its name because it is situated in a mountain hollow, and scholars hoped that the village would enjoy peace year after year and that life would be smooth sailing.

Chaping Village is a small mountain hamlet in Tuochuan Township, Wuyuan, with a history of over a thousand years. It is now home to more than a hundred farming households. Due to its remote location and inconvenient transportation, few tourists visit, which helps preserve its pristine natural scenery. Towering ancient trees and blooming pear blossoms have earned it the reputation of “Heavenly Village” among many photography enthusiasts.

Chaping Village is quite unique, as the entire settlement is built atop a high mountain with almost no flat land. Generally, it can only be reached by self-driving or private car hire. Although the road leading there is rugged, the breathtaking scenery upon arrival makes it all worthwhile. The spring morning is the best time for photography. Standing at the entrance of the village and looking down from above, you’ll see hundreds of acres of terraced fields stretching out as far as the eye can see, with houses of varying heights nestled in the ethereal sea of clouds. Pear and peach blossoms hang among the scattered black walls and white tiles, and for a moment, you might truly feel as if you’ve stepped into a fairyland.
