Fengshan Longtian Tower is a cultural heritage site protected by Jiangxi Province.

The Zheyuan Longtian Tower stands beside a small stream at the entrance of Fengshan Village in Zheyuan. Originally built during the Song Dynasty, it was later destroyed and rebuilt during the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty. Legend has it that due to frequent fires in Fengshan Village, the villagers constructed this tower to suppress the Fire God. It was named “Longtian,” to echo the village name “Fengshan,” symbolizing the auspicious union of “dragon and phoenix.” The tower is over 30 meters tall, built from brick and stone, with six sides and seven stories. The eaves extend layer by layer, narrowing in width as they rise, and iron wind chimes hang from the corners of each level. When the wind blows, the chimes produce pleasant sounds. Inside, there is a wooden staircase and floor structure. Climbing up, visitors can reach the top floor and gaze out at the ancient village of a thousand smoke-wreathed homes. Longtian Tower stands on the banks of the Zhe Stream at the entrance of Fengshan Village, Zheyuan Township, north of Wuyuan County. The tower was first built during the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty. Legend says that before the tower was built, Fengshan Village suffered frequent fires, so the villagers constructed it to suppress the Fire God. It was named Longtian, corresponding to the village name Fengshan, symbolizing the harmony of dragon and phoenix.

Child Ticket: Children between 1.2 m (inclusive) and 1.4 m (exclusive) can purchase a child ticket for 30 RMB. Children under 1.2 m are free. Seniors aged 70 and above with valid ID, senior citizen cards, or - are free. Active-duty military personnel are also admitted free of charge.

The village features a network of ancient alleys and lanes, with most houses adorned with delicate wood carvings from the Ming and Qing dynasties. Zheyuan Fengshan Village is the seat of the township government and boasts a long history, dating back over 1,030 years. The village has a population of about 2,000, mostly surnamed Zha.
