Bieyoutian Ancient Pavilion

Inside the "Bieyoutian" ancient pavilion at the entrance of Qingyuan Village, there remains an ancient quatrain inscribed by a poet of old: "In secluded mountains veiled in mist and rosy clouds, where boats ply no waters and carts no roads, I let the Central Plains plunge into war’s chaos—my home lies deep in this Peach Blossom Spring." On either side of the original pavilion’s main gate were couplets reading: "Where horse and carriage noise ceases, I recall how sages of old found joy in their paths, their retreat no different from Tao Yuanming’s; where the crowing of cocks and barking of dogs can be heard, here alone do all four classes live in peace, fallen petals still like those of Wuling’s springs." The horizontal scroll reads "Deep in the Peach Blossom Spring." The saying that the ancient village of Qingyuan is a little Peach Blossom Spring also stems from this.

Transportation

Around 9:00 a.m. each day, a minibus departs from the North Bus Station in the county town, passing through Likeng, Wangkou, Jiangwan, Xiaqi, Jiangling, Gaoshan Pinghu, Qingyuan Intersection, Duanxin Township, and ending at Guankeng. It returns from Guankeng at around 11:30 a.m.

Practical Tips

Qingyuan is not included in the 14 attractions covered by Wuyuan’s general admission ticket. When entering the village, villagers may block the parking lot near the entrance and charge you a 20-yuan "entrance fee," euphemistically called a "sanitation management fee."
