Duanxian Reservoir

Nestled atop a mountain six kilometers above sea level, Duanxian Reservoir was originally the source of the Duanxian River. After the river was dammed and a series of hydroelectric stations were built, the surrounding 6,000-acre area transformed into a vast, misty lake. Boating on the lake, you’ll find yourself surrounded by rolling peaks and winding waters. The distant and nearby mountains vary in height — some stand like emerald screens, others spiral like jade snails, some rise like pillars holding up the sky, and others stretch out like undulating hills. On clear days, the blue sky, white clouds, lush trees, and bright flowers are mirrored on the lake’s surface. When still, the reflections are subtle and reserved; when rippled, they become hazy and dreamlike. Interspersed with splashing springs, birdsong, and leaping fish, the scene naturally stirs poetic and picturesque feelings. Beneath the dam lies another unique view: jagged rocks piled up over three miles, with murmuring streams and gurgling springs. Visitors can wander through, picking wildflowers or cupping handfuls of fresh water, lying or resting, washing or bathing, while gazing up at the ever-changing sea of clouds — gathering and dispersing — all bringing a sense of peace and joy.

Qingyuan Village: (1) General Information

Located in Qingyuan, this area lies in the mountainous region south of the township government. It includes 7 natural villages, 14 villager groups, 593 households, and 1,935 residents. The main produce includes rice and tea, with 2,217 acres of arable land and 1,440 acres of tea fields.

Also known as Little Peach Blossom Land, or simply Little Yuan, Qingyuan Village was established during the Tang Dynasty’s Kaiyuan era. Here, deep valleys stretch wide like the Pan Valley of Mount Taihang and are as beautiful as the Peach Blossom Spring of Wuling.
