The Tomb of Zhan Chu is located in Wuyuan County and dates back to the Sui Dynasty (renovated in 2002).

Zhan Chu (circa 1231) styled himself Yiyuan, also referred to as Ziyuan, was a native of Xiuning (now part of Anhui). His birth and death years are uncertain, but he lived around the time of Emperor Lizong’s Shaoding era during the Southern Song Dynasty. He was a Southern Song statesman and Neo-Confucian scholar, and a kinsman-disciple of Zhan Tiren. He revered Zhu Xi in his scholarship. Initially serving as a county magistrate, he was later recommended as a recorder at the Imperial College and was on friendly terms with his classmate Wang Shen. After seven years in office, he submitted a memorial requesting a clear distinction between gentlemen and petty men, as well as between righteousness and evil, which offended Han Tuozhou, leading to his dismissal and return home. In his retirement, he took it upon himself to elucidate Confucian principles together with renowned scholars across the land, taking delight in writing and teaching.
