The former site of the Special District Committee of the CPC in Wuyuan is located in Nandongkeng Village, Xucun Town, Wuyuan County. In April 1932, following instructions from the Northeastern Jiangxi Provincial Committee of the CPC to “expand into Wuyuan,” the Central Huizhou–Wuyuan–Dexing County Committee of the CPC established the Special District Committee of the CPC in Wuyuan in Zhuwang Village, with Ai Shicheng serving as the secretary. In July, the Special District Committee held a cadres' meeting in Nandongkeng, where the leadership was re-elected—with Wang Zhaozu appointed as the new secretary—and three district committees were established in Zhukeng, Luotian, and Caocun.

Xucun Town: Located in the southwestern part of Wuyuan County, Xucun Town borders the three cities of Jingdezhen (the porcelain capital), Dexing (the copper capital), and Leping. To the east is Zhongyun Town, to the south is Taibai Town, to the west is Zhenzhushan Township, and to the north are Fuchun and Zhentou towns. The town covers a total land area of 325,905 mu. The town government is situated in Xucun, which is 38 km from the county seat and 46 km from Jingdezhen, enjoying convenient transportation. In December 1994, the township was upgraded to a town, and in April 2005, Fengzhou Township was merged into Xucun Town. The town currently administers 12 village committees, 1 neighborhood committee, and 1 town-managed forest farm, with a total population of 18,363, all of whom are Han Chinese.
