Zheyuan Township: The name “Zheyuan” comes from Zheyuan Mountain (also known as Zhe Ridge). According to the Wuyuan County Annals, while most rivers in Wuyuan flow into Poyang Lake, the water here flows eastward into Xiuning and then to Zhejiang—hence the name Zheyuan. It is the ancestral home of Zhan Tianyou, known as the father of China’s railways, and Jin Yong, the master of wuxia fiction.

Zheyuan Township is situated in the northern part of Wuyuan, bordering Huangshan City in Anhui Province. The township covers an area of 98 square kilometers with a population of 15,000. A 38-kilometer secondary road leads directly to Wuyuan County, and another 80-kilometer tertiary road passes through the township over Zhe Ridge to Xiuning and onward to Huangshan.
