The Song Dynasty dragon kiln in Jingdezhen holds an extremely important position in ceramic history. The "qingbai porcelain" fired here marked a leap in Chinese ceramic-making and elevated Jingdezhen (then known as Changnan Town) to the world's ceramic capital during the Jingde era of the Northern Song Dynasty, earning it the name "Jingdezhen" from Emperor Zhenzong of Song.

One of the kilns in the Ancient Kiln Folk Museum has been nicely restored and is worth visiting for photos and to buy some local specialties. Each dynasty in ancient China excelled in different aspects of ceramic craftsmanship, and here you can see the entire process of ceramic production.
