The Ancient Residential Complex of the Zhuang Family in Shanjiao is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

The Ancient Residential Complex of the Zhuang Family in Shanjiao is located in Shiqiao Natural Village, Daigang Village Committee, Shanjiao Subdistrict, Quangang District, Quanzhou City, and dates back to the Qing Dynasty.

Introduction: Originally built in the 52nd year of the Qianlong reign during the Qing Dynasty (1786), it was constructed over three years by Zhuang Daxun and Zhuang Dadong, cousins from the 15th generation of the Shanjiao Zhuang family. The complex is composed of the East Main House, West Main House, North Main House, and the Wenyu (Martial & Civil) Pavilion, covering a total area of 3,292.6 square meters. The three main houses are arranged in a strict, well-spaced, and orderly layout facing south, featuring exquisite craftsmanship and an imposing grandeur.

Protected area: An additional 20 meters outward from all sides of the buildings.

In 2018, the Ancient Residential Complex of the Zhuang Family in Shanjiao was designated as part of the ninth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage sites by the People’s Government of Fujian Province.

Daigang Village: Introduction to Daigang Village

[Administrative Affiliation]: Daigang Village is under the jurisdiction of Shanjiao Subdistrict Office, located southeast of the subdistrict and about 1 kilometer from the district government. It borders Chenzhuang Village to the east, Caitang Village to the south, Jinlian Village to the west, and Chenzhuang Qiancheng to the north, covering an area of approximately 4 square kilometers. The village administers six natural villages: Sanluo, Houlou, Sifangjiao, Changfang, Mianqianshan, and Shiqiao, with a total of 12 villager groups. The village has 2,280 households and a population of 10,683 (including salt workers), predominantly surnamed Zhuang.
