Fisherman's Wharf Celebrates Christmas, Savor Delicious Food & Welcome the New Year with Wish Balloons!

Celebrate Christmas in Tamsui—make a wish under the sunset, enjoy the blue sea and sky, and indulge in delicious food. As 2017 draws to a close, have you decided how to spend Christmas and ring in the exciting New Year’s Eve? To welcome the upcoming 2018, businesses at Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf are launching Christmas-to-New-Year events from Christmas through New Year’s Eve, including the “Golden Happy Christmas & New Year Week” at the Fisherman’s Waterfront Restaurant and the “Starry Christmas” event at Fleur de Chine Hotel. Come celebrate Christmas and joyfully welcome the New Year at Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf.

Fisherman’s Waterfront

To celebrate Christmas and welcome the New Year, the Fisherman's Wharf and harbor businesses are adorned with festive Christmas lights that twinkle brightly at night, creating a joyful holiday atmosphere. In the evening, many people gather on the wooden boardwalk and Lover's Bridge in the harbor area to admire the golden hues of the setting sun and enjoy stunning views of the wharf and riverside scenery.

During the event period from December 23 to December 31, diners at the Fisherman's Waterfront Restaurant, located in the shopping street beneath the harbor wooden boardwalk, can participate in an online lucky draw by wearing something yellow-golden and sharing a photo at the restaurant on the Fisherman's Waterfront Facebook page. Three lucky winners will receive a set meal voucher for the Fisherman's Waterfront Restaurant.

Throughout the event, Santa Claus will also make surprise appearances around the shopping street. Visitors who take photos with him and check in can receive limited-edition postcards provided by the Fisherman's Waterfront Restaurant. Additionally, on December 31, to ring in the New Year together with the public, limited-edition balloons will be handed out in front of the restaurant from 10:00 PM to midnight. Everyone can countdown together and release their balloons into the sky, carrying wishes aloft to welcome a bright and brand-new year.

Fleur de Chine Hotel’s December 23 Starlight Christmas Event

The Fleur de Chine Hotel in the harbor area boasts a unique cruise ship-inspired design and offers breathtaking views of mountains, rivers, and sea. To celebrate Christmas, the hotel has launched the “Loving Tamsui Warm Holiday” package. For just NT$6,999 per couple (plus 10% service charge), guests can check in and enjoy afternoon tea. On December 23 from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM, the hotel will host a “Starlight Christmas” event where overnight guests can join in gift exchanges, band performances, and a visit from Santa Claus to receive presents—creating wonderful holiday memories all in one night.
