Travel Center / Comprehensive Report
Shortly after announcing plans for the MITSUI OUTLET PARK Taichung Harbor (tentative name, scheduled to open in 2018), Mitsui Fudosan Group announced on the 24th that it will partner with CTBC Group to develop a large-scale chain shopping complex “LaLaport” in Nangang District, Taipei City. The total floor area will be around 50,000 pyeong (approximately 165,000 square meters), making it even larger than the 42,500 pyeong (approx. 140,000 square meters) of the Linkou OUTLET. It is expected to open and begin operations in Nangang District, Taipei City in 2021, tentatively named LaLaport Nangang.
MITSUI OUTLET PARK Linkou was Mitsui Fudosan Group’s first investment project in Taiwan. After its opening, it attracted large crowds, including many popular eateries with long lines, such as Kaneko Hannosuke, which still requires queuing. This was followed by the MITSUI OUTLET PARK Taichung Harbor (tentative name, scheduled to open in 2018), an investment project by Mitsui Garden Hotel, and the latest is the investment in the large-scale chain shopping complex “LaLaport,” with a floor area of about 50,000 pyeong, an estimated 250 stores, and located within a five-minute walk from both Nangang Software Park Metro Station and Nangang Exhibition Center Metro Station.
LaLaport is another shopping complex brand under Mitsui, developed and operated in various locations across Japan. Its primary target demographic is “families,” where people of all ages can spend a relaxing day. The complex includes retail shops, restaurants, entertainment facilities, and more.
