As the seasons change, their leaves transition from green to golden yellow, orange, and deep red, layering into a breathtaking palette. 【Northern Taiwan】
1. Taipei - Dahu Park
Easily accessible by MRT, Dahu Park features dozens of tamarisk trees planted alongside a large grassy area. You can stroll along the lakeside path, and from the path down from “Jindai Bridge,” through the “Fitness Area” and “Lotus Pond” paths, you’ll find tamarisks also lining the “Sunshine Lawn” pathway. Their beautiful presence is everywhere to be captured.

2. Taoyuan - Daxi - Shiyuan Road
Located near Shimen Reservoir, apart from enjoying the maple foliage, you can also admire tamarisk trees here. The approximately 1-kilometer-long Tamarisk Avenue is lined with double rows of tamarisks gradually turning golden—a truly spectacular sight that makes everyone pause to appreciate this rare beauty.

3. Taoyuan - Fuxing - Taoyuan Fairy Valley
Besides being able to see tulips, golden maples, and ginkgo trees, the tamarisk trees in Taoyuan Fairy Valley are also a highlight. There are three tamarisk areas in the valley, which gradually turn from green to golden and various other hues as the weather changes—creating an enchanting view.

4. Taoyuan - Bade - Xiaoli Pond
Xiaoli Pond in Bade District, Taoyuan, has recently gone viral, and despite ongoing controversies, it hasn’t dampened visitors’ enthusiasm. Surrounded by vast tamarisk forests, the view seems endless, like stepping into a hidden paradise—absolutely stunning. Nearby, there’s also a large field of red quinoa, offering a rare winter scene.

5. Hsinchu - Beibu - Liutang Tamarisk
“Liutang” has six large ponds, and the water reflects a row of 16 tamarisk trees, creating a unique “mirror-like tamarisk” landscape. On clear days, with the blue sky and white clouds adding to the scene, it feels like stepping through a magic portal into a foreign land. You can walk along the lakeside path and enjoy the illusion of being in a northern country.

6. Hsinchu - Neiwan - Neiwan Water Park
Located near the Neiwan Old Street, Neiwan Water Park features arch bridges, flowing water, and tree landscaping filled with lush greenery. The pond reflects the graceful curves of the arch bridge, and with several tamarisk trees at the bridgehead, it creates a poetic seasonal scene that is truly captivating.

7. Hsinchu Xingpu Nine-Flower Lake Scenic Area
The Nine-Flower Lake Scenic Area boasts the largest cluster of bald cypress trees in northern Taiwan, scattered throughout the park. There are over 40 bald cypress trees alone at Golden Valley Farm, and the Chen Family Farm also has many. Taking beautiful photos beside these golden-hued trees is especially romantic.

【Central Taiwan】
8. Taichung Wufeng Bald Cypress Grove
Known as the setting for the “Taiwan version of Winter Sonata,” this location is near the intersection of Zhongzheng Road and Beian Road in Wufeng District, Taichung City. A whole grove of bald cypress trees stands next to rice paddies. The area is privately owned, but the landowner generously opens it to visitors. Here you can capture the scene of rice fields and bald cypress trees together, creating a dreamy view that feels like being in a foreign country.

9. Taichung Tai’an Bald Cypress Grove
Located near what is considered one of the most beautiful police stations in Taiwan — Tai’an Police Station — these bald cypress trees appear as if they emerge from the center of a field. The area spans about the size of 1 to 2 basketball courts. A main pathway cuts through the center, making you feel as though you’ve stepped into an idol drama no matter which angle you photograph from. Surrounded by the trees, you’ll be enchanted by the autumn and winter atmosphere. Please note that this is private land.

10. Nantou Aowanda National Forest Recreation Area
Located in Ren’ai Township, Nantou County, it is also known as the “Hometown of Maple Leaves.” In front of Green Field Villa within the park, there are also bald cypress trees with a northern feel. Their leaves are gradually falling, complementing the blooming trees throughout the park. Beautiful in all seasons, Aowanda draws visitors despite its remote location and is one of the top choices for getting close to nature.

11. Nantou Guoxing Jiudian Bald Cypress Mini Forest
Forest, lakeside, and walking trails — this small but beautiful bald cypress hidden gem is in Guoxing Township, Nantou. Local villagers have planted over 200 bald cypress trees and generously share them with the public. The area is well planned, allowing visitors to stroll slowly along the stone-paved paths. In winter, after the leaves fall, a red carpet is formed, adding even more romance. The breathtaking scenery makes it hard to stop taking photos.

12. Yunlin Gukeng Guilin Village
Yunlin’s Gukeng is not only home to the Green Tunnel, but next to Guangshan and Bin Waterfront Area, there is also a bald cypress hidden spot. The changing colors of the treetops are romantic and picturesque. The area stretches about 100 meters, and walking through it fills you with boundless happiness. Take a moment to admire the unique beauty of each bald cypress tree for some spiritual peace.
Transportation info: Follow County Road Yun 212 past Leofoo Village Theme Park toward Guilin, continue a short distance and turn left at Xingman Bridge to arrive. (Next to Guangshan Riverside Waterfront Area / under Shanshan Temple)

13. Yunlin Agricultural Water Conservancy Cultural Relics Exhibition Hall
The Agricultural Water Conservancy Cultural Relics Exhibition Hall in Yunlin covers approximately 2 hectares. Bald cypress trees are planted along both sides of the irrigation channels, and the contrast between the irrigation waterwheels and the cypress forest creates a perfect movie-like scene. Additionally, the tall bald cypress trees along the outdoor paths are also quite a sight, giving the impression of being in a European town when viewed from afar.

14. Changhua – Golden Horse East Road Bald Cypress Grove
Tucked away in a quiet urban corner, this spot stands out from typical bald cypress sites with its large pond. In season, clusters of lotus flowers rise above the water, adding a unique charm. The picturesque blend of water, trees, and sky makes every photo incredibly romantic, as if painted by nature.

【Southern Taiwan】
15. Kaohsiung – Aozihdi Forest Park
Dubbed “Kaohsiung’s Little Flower Expo” by netizens, Aozihdi Forest Park features a variety of flowers along with subtropical trees and blooms that paint the park in vibrant colors. Layered planting and an ecological wetland enhance biodiversity, while the bald cypresses lining the pond add a special touch to the scenery.

16. Yilan – Mingchi
Mingchi is a high-altitude alpine lake located within the Mingchi Forest Recreation Area of the Lihpao Maoluo Eco-Park. It is surrounded by golden bald cypress woods, distant mountains, and wooden boardwalks, creating a postcard-perfect scene. At about 1,200 meters above sea level, the area is often shrouded in mist year-round. The breathtaking cypresses and surrounding landscape feel like a fairyland on earth.

17. Yilan – Yuanshan Lipei Lake
Lipei Lake is located within the Fu Garden managed by Yilan County’s Funeral Management Office. A wooden boardwalk circles the lake, lined with rows of bald cypresses and ginkgo trees, backed by lush green mountains. The beautiful scenery is perfectly mirrored on the water’s surface, making photos here dreamlike and almost surreal.

18. Yilan – Sanyi Annong Riverbank
The hidden bald cypress spot in Sanyi, Yilan, is easy to find—it’s right next to the Annong River bike path. About 200 bald cypress trees line both sides of the road, with green lawns in between, creating a majestic view of “beauty in numbers.” You can ride a bike while enjoying the scenery or take a leisurely stroll down the cypress-lined avenue—both are poetic experiences.

19. Yilan – Luodong Sports Park
Spanning 47 hectares, the park features a small grove of bald cypresses near a gentle stream, resembling a “forest of tranquility” within Luodong City. Netizens note that the tennis courts, parking area, and along the park’s water channels are all lined with large patches of bald cypresses. Their yellow, green, and red hues create a highly atmospheric sight.

20. Hualien – Yuzhan Nursery
Located near Hualien’s Tzu Chi University, this nursery features rows of bald cypresses standing neatly in the water—hailed by many as a mini version of Yunshan Water.
