Kaohsiung Port has gained a new international landmark as the old harbor area is being transformed into a passenger and tourism-oriented marina. The city government, in collaboration with Taiwan International Ports Corporation, aims to create a new waterfront landscape by investing around NT$500 million to develop Taiwan’s largest-scale yacht marina district. This project integrates the land facilities of the new Ocean Culture and Popular Music Center, a future hub for music, and connects with the Dazihba Cultural and Creative District as well as the planned Love River Bay Grand Harbor Bridge, creating a new iconic landmark for the harbor city.

Once the "Love River Bay Yacht Marina District" is completed, it will serve as a model yacht base and the largest yacht district in Taiwan, while also establishing a complete yacht industry chain covering upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors. This will boost yacht production value, create an internationally renowned yacht harbor, and establish a new paradise for international yachting and tourism.
The water area covers 10 hectares, with a total berth length of approximately 460 meters at the yacht marina, capable of accommodating about 160 yachts. The land section integrates performance spaces from the Kaohsiung Marine Culture and Popular Music Center and an underground parking lot, estimated to accommodate thousands of people for leisure activities.

Taiwan’s yacht industry ranks fourth in the world, with most production bases located in the Port of Kaohsiung. The harbor offers safe, calm waters and a spring-like climate year-round, making it highly suitable for developing a yacht tourism industry.
Future yacht berths will be complemented by nighttime lighting effects and will also accommodate small yachts and recreational vessels, allowing visitors to get closer to the sea and engage in leisure activities. This will enhance the development of marine industry culture, give the port city waterfront a new skyline image, and shape a new attraction within the marine urban lifestyle circle.

The "Love River Bay Yacht Marina District New Construction Project" was completed in 2018. Together with the Kaohsiung Harbor Passenger Transport Center completed in 2019, along with international-level structures such as the Ocean Culture and Popular Music Center, the Kaohsiung Municipal Central Library, and the Kaohsiung World Trade Exhibition and Convention Center, as well as the circular (waterside) light rail and new attractions like old port water activities, it creates a multifunctional environment integrating culture, music, yachting, harbor cruising, and tourism. Visitors can gaze at mountain and sea views along the yacht marina district, enhanced by nighttime landscape lighting design, taking in the full charm of Kaohsiung’s harbor city.
