Nangang is located southeast of Taipei, the least populous district in the Taipei area. It has rich natural resources, integrated three-mode transportation (MRT, train, and bus), and large exhibition venues. It was also an important early estuarine development settlement. The Osmanthus Suspension Bridge can be described as a hidden garden on Nangang Mountain — a quaint mini bridge over flowing water. Located next to the Demonstration Tea Factory’s mountain-looping trail, both paths are smooth and clean, with a total length of less than one kilometer, making it perfect for a relaxing outing.

The area around the Nangang Tea Manufacturing Demonstration Plant features a rich natural ecological environment. In early summer, fireflies flit through the trees, while in crisp autumn air, the scent of osmanthus fills the surroundings. It also boasts Taipei’s only tea plantation ecological landscape. Opposite the plant lies the Dibei Lake Osmanthus Grove Ancient Trail and Dakeng Stream Osmanthus Suspension Bridge Waterfront Trail, while behind it is the Mountain-Looping Plank Walk, which offers a high vantage point overlooking the Taipei Basin, as well as local Nangang plants and coal seam outcrops. It's a great spot for relaxation, tea, and conversation.

Looking east from Nangang Park, you can see the Four Beasts Mountains in Xinyi District, offering a vast view. It is the largest park in Nangang District and features a natural pond. The Chinese-style red archway serves as the main entrance to the park. Standing 13 meters tall and 20 meters wide, with the golden characters “Nangang Park” inscribed on the top in seal script, it is a landmark of the district. The square in front of the archway is a popular spot for nearby residents to dance and exercise in the morning, and there is also a regularly refreshed flower bed in the center that complements the archway, providing visitors with an excellent photo opportunity.

Shanshui Green Ecological Park features multiple facilities repurposed from the site’s former structures, along with interactive and playful environmental education displays. Additionally, on weekends, the park offers free loan of traditional toys (stilts, hoop rolling, spinning tops) and bicycles to the public. Its expansive grounds are also ideal for flying kites. The park’s observation deck provides daytime views of Nangang urban area and Neihu’s mountainous terrain, and nighttime vistas of the traffic on National Highways 3 and 5. It’s the perfect recreational spot for families to connect with nature and experience ecology.
