The ancient architectural complex of Tukeng Village is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The ancient architectural complex of Tukeng Village in Quangang is located in Tukeng Village, Houlong Town, Quangang District, Quanzhou City, Fujian Province. It is an outstanding representative of ancient port cities along the Maritime Silk Road. The ancient buildings in Tukeng Village are staggered yet neatly arranged, forming a generally well-organized layout with four horizontal and five vertical streets. Major structures include: the Million-Dollar Mansion, Zhongcuo Cloth Shop, Chuansheng Residence (Yinglin Mansion), Bohai Mansion, Jianlong Mansion, Jiaju Grain Shop, Shibudang Pawnshop, Zhao Yuan Scholar Mansion, Changchun Hall Pharmacy (Jianlian Mansion), Wanjie Thirteen Hongs, Ancestral Hall Well, Jianjie Seafood Trading Firm, Ligong Academy, Shunyu Millionaire Mansion (Duanshan Mansion), Jianzhen Millionaire Mansion, Laipu Pawnshop, Embroidery Tower, Kaitai Scholar Mansion, Duanyu Millionaire Mansion (Dafeng Scholar Mansion), Three-Hole Well, Xiamen Kou Market Wharf, Baishi Palace, Shibukou Street, and ancestral Hallkou Street. All were built in the mid-Qing Dynasty and continuously constructed by the local maritime merchant Liu family. The Liu family of Tukeng made their fortune through maritime farming and developed through maritime trade. The front served as shops, the back as warehouses—dual-use for commerce and residence. The layout is staggered yet orderly. In addition to traditional Southern Fujian decorative motifs and craftsmanship, the buildings also incorporate diverse foreign cultural elements from the West and Southeast Asia. These blend harmoniously with the overall architectural intent, reflecting both the traditional red-brick culture and the maritime culture of Southern Fujian.

On October 7, 2019, the ancient architectural complex of Tukeng Village was included in the eighth batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.

Tukeng Village: Located in the central part of Houlong Town, Quangang District, Tukeng Village borders Bixiawan to the east, the FuLian residential area to the south, and Nanpu Town to the north, covering an area of approximately 1.6 square kilometers with a total population of over 3,900. In 2003, it was designated as a Provincial Historical and Cultural Village by the Fujian Provincial People’s Government and is also one of the revolutionary base villages in Quangang District.

Tukeng Village boasts beautiful mountains, rivers, and a harmonious flow of energy, with generations of flourishing descendants—a place of outstanding people and spiritual land. The village contains 27 ancient residences, though nearly half have collapsed or been damaged.
