Chen Qingji’s Former Residence is a cultural relic protection unit of Fujian Province.

Chen Qingji’s Former Residence is located on Shishi Lane, Anhai Town, Jinjiang City, dating back to 1929.

Description: Built in 1929, it faces southwest and is a three-bay-wide, two-courtyard Fujian-style red brick building of the “Huanggongqi” type, with a two-story wing on the left. It covers an area of 658 square meters. The residence features exquisite stone, wood, and brick carvings, and preserves inscriptions by notable figures such as Yu Youren, Lin Sen, and Yang Shuzhuang. Chen Qingji (1881–1940), a renowned overseas Chinese leader from Fujian and a member of the Chinese Revolutionary Alliance, organized the “Anhai Uprising” on November 7, 1911, making him a veteran of Fujian’s Xinhai Revolution. After the founding of the Republic of China, he advocated for “industrial salvation of the nation” and made significant contributions to the development of his country and hometown.

In 2013, Chen Qingji’s Former Residence was designated as part of the eighth batch of provincial-level cultural relic protection units by the Fujian Provincial People's Government.

Protected area: 20 meters beyond the perimeter of the residence.

Anhai Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Jinjiang City. Historically known as Haowan, it was called Anhai after the Song Dynasty. In 1958, the Wuxing Commune was established, and in 1985 it was renamed Anhai Town. Located in the southwestern part of the city, it covers an area of 67.7 square kilometers with a population of 118,000. The Fu–Xia Expressway and Shixia Highway pass through the town.
