Tomb of Yang Chengzhai

The Tomb of Yang Chengzhai is a cultural relic protection unit of Jinjiang City.

The Tomb of Yang Chengzhai is located in Shangzhai Village, Yonghe Town, dating back to the Ming Dynasty, and is categorized as an ancient tomb.

Constructed during the Yongle era of the Ming Dynasty, it faces southwest and is built in a throne-like structure, holding certain historical value for the study of Ming Dynasty tomb architecture. The Yang family was revered by local villagers for pleading on behalf of the people and standing up to --, leading to the establishment of a temple and statue in their honor.

On September 8, 2019, the Tomb of Yang Chengzhai was announced as part of the sixth batch of municipal-level cultural relic protection units in Jinjiang City.

Protected area: 7 meters east, 10 meters west, 6 meters south, 4 meters north.

Shangzhai Village: Shangzhai Village is an administrative village under the jurisdiction of Yonghe Town, Jinjiang City, located in the central part of Jinjiang. It lies to the west of the intersection between Shema Highway and Dashen Highway. To the southeast it neighbors Maping Village, and to the northwest it borders Dashanhou Village with a mountain range as the boundary. The village covers an area of 9 square kilometers, includes an industrial zone, and governs eleven villager groups, with 751 households and a population of 3,235. The Yang family is predominant in Shangzhai Village, which originally belonged to the Twelfth District, with the district shrine located behind Xibian Village. During the Yongle era of the Ming Dynasty, Anping’s Luxia King, considering the district site a feng shui treasure, used his influence to dispute with locals, abolishing the district and establishing a tomb.
