Yulin Ancestral Hall of the Zeng Clan in Yunei

The Yulin Ancestral Hall of the Zeng Clan in Yunei is a cultural relic protection unit of Jinjiang City.

The Yulin Ancestral Hall of the Zeng Clan in Yunei is located at No. 170 Yingli, Yunei Village, Chidian Town. Dating back to the Qing Dynasty, it is categorized as an ancient building.

Originally built during the Ming Dynasty, the existing structure was renovated during the Kangxi era of the Qing Dynasty. It faces south with a north orientation, features a five-bay, two-courtyard layout, and boasts exquisite wood and stone carvings among other decorations. It houses one “Stele for the Renovation of the Zeng Ancestral Hall at Houshan” from the 50th year of the Kangxi reign (1711).

On September 8, 2019, the Yulin Ancestral Hall of the Zeng Clan in Yunei was announced as part of the sixth batch of municipal-level cultural relic protection units in Jinjiang City.

Protected area: 2 meters east, 1.5 meters west, 9 meters south, 1 meter north.

Yunei Village: The Yunei administrative village is located in the northwest of Chidian Town, also known as Xiawei Village, and is less than 1,000 meters from the seat of the Chidian Town government. The village includes three main areas: Yuci Bridge, Licuo, and Yunei, and currently has 11 villager groups with a population of over 4,000. It is a well-known hometown of overseas Chinese, with more overseas Chinese and compatriots from Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau than the local population. The village was formed before the Song Dynasty and was once a key route from Quanzhou to Anhai and Zhangzhou. Historical records indicate that Emperor Zhao Bing of the Southern Song Dynasty passed through here while fleeing south to avoid war.
