Xia Mei Zhongshi Ancestral Hall

The Xia Mei Zhongshi Ancestral Hall is a cultural relic protection unit of Jinjiang City.

The Xia Mei Zhongshi Ancestral Hall is located at No. 16, Ji’an Road, Xiamei She Ethnic Village, Neikeng Town. Dating back to the Qing Dynasty, it is classified as an ancient building.

Originally built during the Ming Dynasty, the existing structure was renovated during the Daoguang era of the Qing Dynasty. It faces south with its back to the north, featuring a three-bay, two-courtyard layout. It retains architectural components from the Ming Dynasty, as well as plaques from the Daoguang period inscribed with “Zhongshi Ancestral Hall” and “Originated from Haicheng,” and is an important historical site for the study of the migration of the She ethnic Zhong clan in Jinjiang.

On September 8, 2019, the Xia Mei Zhongshi Ancestral Hall was announced as part of the sixth batch of municipal-level cultural relic protection units in Jinjiang City.

Protected area: 2 meters to the east and west, 5 meters to the north, and 10 meters to the south.

Neikeng Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Jinjiang City. Established as the Neikeng People's Commune in 1961, it was restructured as a township in 1984 and upgraded to a town in 1991. Located in the western part of the city, it covers an area of 45 square kilometers with a population of 61,000. The town is accessible by road.
