Ancient Wutou Ferry Terminal

The Ancient Wutou Ferry Terminal is a cultural heritage site protected by Jinjiang City.

The Ancient Wutou Ferry Terminal is located at Wutou Village, Jinjing Town, in the Ancient Wutou Ferry area. Dating back to the Song and Yuan dynasties, it is categorized as an ancient architectural structure.

Built during the Song and Yuan periods, it comprises three docks, all constructed with interlocking granite blocks in a "ding-shun" pattern, and has been repaired over the centuries. In 1936, a T-shaped reinforced concrete pier was added to link the three docks together. The docks retain a well-preserved appearance and are still in use today.

On September 8, 2019, the Ancient Wutou Ferry Terminal was designated as part of the sixth batch of municipal-level cultural heritage protection units in Jinjiang City.

Protected area: A 10-meter buffer zone extends outward from the perimeter of the pier and docks.

Wutou Village: Wutou is situated at the southernmost tip of the Wutou Peninsula, a protruding area along the southeastern coast of China’s West Coast Economic Zone in Fujian Province. The scenic area covers 3 square kilometers, with a coastline stretching 6,500 meters. The village is home to over 10,000 overseas and local compatriots, has a permanent population of more than 4,000, and hosts around 3,000 migrant workers. To the east lies the Taiwan Strait, and to the west is the beautiful Wutou Bay. To the south, it is just 5.6 (or 4.7) nautical miles from Greater Kinmen Island, making it the mainland Chinese fishing village closest to Greater Kinmen.
