Jinjing Twin Pagodas

The Jinjing Twin Pagodas are a cultural relic protection unit of Jinjiang City.

The Jinjing Twin Pagodas are located in Jinjing Natural Village, Shizhen Village, Jinjing Town. Dating back to the Ming Dynasty, they are classified as ancient architecture.

Built during the Ming Dynasty, the Jinjing Twin Pagodas are situated at the foot of Muming Mountain, north of Jinjing Village, standing opposite each other to the east and west. With a total height of 5.56 meters, they are made of stone and share the same design, consisting of a base, body, and finial. The base is a double-layered square stone platform. The lower part of the body is a rectangular prism, with the characters “僧” (monk), “佛” (Buddha), “发” (hair), and “宝” (treasure) carved on its four sides. The upper part is cylindrical, with a Buddha statue carved on one side. Above that is a conical finial. These pagodas are located on either side of the Incense Burner Stone at the mountaintop and are said to have been used in ancient times as objects to suppress evil spirits.

On February 5, 2013, the Jinjing Twin Pagodas were designated as part of the fifth batch of municipal-level cultural relic protection units in Jinjiang City.

Protected area: 20 meters outward in all directions—east, west, south, and north—from the main structure.

Shizhen Village: The Shizhen Village Committee is located 4 kilometers southeast of the Jinjing Town government seat. It borders Futian Village to the southwest and faces the sea to the southeast. To the northeast, it neighbors Keren Village of Shenhu Town, with Shizhen Yan Dun Mountain serving as the boundary.
