Panhu Buddhist Statue Pagoda

The Panhu Buddhist Statue Pagoda is a cultural relic protection unit of Jinjiang City.

The Panhu Buddhist Statue Pagoda is located beside No. 12 on the southern section of Middle Road, Panhu Village, Chidian Town. It dates back to the Qing Dynasty and is classified as an ancient architectural structure.

The Panhu Buddhist Statue Pagoda is a square-shaped stone pagoda featuring Buddhist statues, consisting of three parts: the base, the body, and the finial. The base is built from long stone slabs and consists of nine tiers that gradually taper inward. The body has five tiers, with inscriptions carved on the lower part and Buddhist relief sculptures on each of the four sides of the upper part. The finial is cylindrical. This pagoda is one of the better-preserved Buddhist stone pagodas in Jinjiang and holds significant importance for the study of Qing Dynasty Buddhist statue pagodas.

On February 5, 2013, the Panhu Buddhist Statue Pagoda was designated as part of the fifth batch of municipal-level cultural relic protection units in Jinjiang City.

Panhu Village: Located in Chidian Town, Jinjiang City, Fujian Province, Panhu Village got its name because the Pan clan was the first to settle by this lake. It is the third largest village in Chidian Town, situated about ten li south of Quanzhou City near the southern section of the Lātóng Bridge on the Fuzhou–Xiamen Highway Duplication Line. It lies to the north of the Jiǔshíjiǔ Stream at the southern foot of Lion Mountain, bordering Chidian Village to the east, Shichun Village to the west, the Quanzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone to the north, and the Jiǔshíjiǔ Stream to the south. The Panhu Village Committee is located 1.5 kilometers northeast of the Chidian Town government office. To the southwest, it borders Xiawu Village of Qingyang Town (now under the administration of Xiyuan Subdistrict). The Panhu Village Committee is situated east of Jinhu School.
