Ruiyun Mountain Forest Park

Ruiyun Mountain Forest Park is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Ruiyun Mountain Forest Park is located in Dayang Township and Zhuangbian Town within the northwestern part of Hanjiang District and at the border with Yongtai County. The scenic area covers a total of approximately 20 square kilometers and is known as having “eighteen major scenic spots and thirty-six minor ones.” It was designated as a provincial-level forest park in 2005.

Centered around Ruiyun Mountain, the park is planned to include five scenic zones: the sightseeing and pilgrimage area, leisure and vacation area, grassland scenery area, and ecological viewing area. Hundreds of species of wild animals often roam the area, including nationally protected species such as pythons, owls, pangolins, serows, and silver pheasants, which can occasionally be spotted.

The cultural landscapes are quite distinctive, featuring the Prince’s Bridge, General’s Terrace, ancient official post road, stone statues of humans and horses, as well as historical sites such as the Longxing Temple and Doushuai Monastery built during the Tang Dynasty, the Dragon King Hall atop Ruiyun Mountain, and the cave temple from the late Song and early Yuan Dynasties—all bearing the imprints of the ancestors.
