Han Yongfan (1902–1931), also known by the alias Li Yingkui, was born into a poor farming family. While studying at the Provincial Fourth Normal School, he developed progressive thinking under the guidance of his schoolmate Guo Shouluan. In the autumn of 1928, he was admitted as a member of the Communist Youth League. In December of the same year, when the Party and Youth League organizations in Putian were separated, he was appointed as the head of the Putian County Committee of the Communist Youth League. In March 1929, he participated in setting up an underground Party liaison station in the urban area — the “Life Shop” — and frequently engaged in active work among workers and peasants. In July of the same year, Han Yongfan became a member of the Chinese Communist Party, becoming one of the earliest Party members in the Chantai area of Putian. Due to his outstanding work in organizing youth in urban schools in Putian to carry out anti-imperialist struggles, he was appointed in September of the same year as the secretary of the Putian County Committee of the Communist Youth League. Thereafter, on one hand, he continued to organize students to oppose the Kuomintang’s monopolization of the National Student Congress, to resist the oppression and enslaving education imposed by the school authorities in Putian, and to lead a movement for selecting teachers freely; on the other hand, he conducted secret military training for some Party members in the urban area, cultivating some military backbone personnel for the establishment of the Guangye Workers’ and Peasants’ Self-Defense Corps and the Jiangkou Guerrilla Unit. In February 1930, the Second Congress of the Chinese Communist Party Fujian Provincial Committee proposed the task of preparing for a general uprising across the province. To support this action, Han Yongfan led the Putian County Committee on March 18 to organize a demonstration by students from the urban and Han areas, carrying out anti-imperialist propaganda and mobilizing shop assistants and workers to launch strikes and protests. These actions were suppressed by reactionary forces; student leaders Chen Wenfen and Lin Chunhui were arrested and killed, and the student committee was disbanded. After more than 20 progressive students, including Han Yongfan, were expelled from school, they became even more courageous in engaging in social revolutionary struggles. In the late spring of the same year, Han Yongfan was additionally elected as a member of the Putian County Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, taking charge of Youth League work. In mid-December of the same year, Han Yongfan, together with Communist Youth League cadre Xu Yuanchang, went to the Wengmozhai Bookstore, an underground Party liaison station in Hanjiang, to collect funds to purchase a batch of supplies intended for the Xinxian Waikeng Revolutionary Base Area. Unfortunately, his actions were discovered by spies, and he was arrested aboard the Haowu ferryboat at Baowei. Subsequently, Han Yongfan and Xu Yuanchang were taken to the headquarters of the Second Brigade of the Marine Corps stationed in Putian. The enemy, having found nothing, executed Han Yongfan and Xu Yuanchang in early January 1931. Han Yongfan was only 29 years old at the time of his martyrdom.

The former residence of Martyr Han Yongfan is a two-story earthen and wooden structure, facing south with a north orientation. It covers a total area of 120 square meters. The main hall is flanked by side rooms. Due to years of disrepair, parts of the walls are damaged.
