According to foreign media reports on the 9th, after being apart for six weeks, British Prince William and Kate Middleton spent their first Valentine’s Day at a ski resort in the French Alps. ...
On the afternoon of the 10th, seven tourists got trapped while climbing Guan Gong Mountain in Huangtantou Township, Quzhou, due to a landslide. Fortunately, firefighters arrived in time and rescued the tourists safely two hours later.
At 17:16 on April 10, the Special Service Squadron of the Quzhou City Fire Brigade received an alarm from the brigade command center, reporting that seven people were lost and trapped in the mountains of Guan Gong Mountain in Huangtan Township, Quzhou. Upon receiving the report, the Special Service Squadron immediately dispatched a rescue vehicle to the scene for rescue operations.
Guan Gong Mountain is located 32 kilometers south of Qujiang District, Quzhou City, and is the only memorial site of China’s “Martial Saint” Guan Yu in the southern regions. The area boasts beautiful scenery and is an untouched tourist destination with few visitors.
After arriving at the scene, firefighters immediately contacted the local police station and attraction staff to understand the situation.
It turned out that the trapped tourists had started climbing the mountain at 1 p.m. and had been walking for nearly three hours. While descending, a sudden landslide occurred, preventing them from returning via the original route.
As it was getting dark and the path was steep and uneven, the trapped tourists could only sit on the slope and were unable to move, so they called for help.
The firefighters, equipped with flashlights, safety ropes, and other protective gear, hiked toward the mountaintop. By then, it was completely dark, and the rescue team advanced along the steep mountain path, periodically calling out to the trapped individuals.
After two hours of searching, they finally found the trapped tourists, who were stuck on the edge of a 5-meter-high cliff and unable to move. The situation was extremely urgent.
Based on the on-site assessment, rescuers used ropes to climb up the cliff face. While comforting the trapped individuals, they secured ropes around the tourists’ waists and helped them descend slowly. After one hour of rescue efforts, all seven tourists landed safely and were assisted down the mountain one-on-one by rescuers. No injuries or casualties were reported.
It is reported that the Guan Gong Mountain scenic area is not yet fully developed, with many facilities still under construction. The area remains primarily focused on natural scenery. Fire authorities remind the public that when visiting such scenic spots, it is essential to carefully observe the surrounding terrain and pay attention to safety.
