Yongxing Rock Cave

Yongxing Rock Cave is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

Yongxing Rock Cave is located in Yuanpu Village, Dayang Township. It was first built during the Shaoxing era of the Song Dynasty (1131–1162), rebuilt in the third year of the Yuanzhen era of the Yuan Dynasty (1297), and reconstructed again in the second year of the Zhiyuan era (1342). The cave enshrines deities such as Zhang Gong, Guanyin, the Eight Immortals, and the Dragon King. Constructed with stone in imitation of wooden architecture, it faces south and has a total width of three bays spanning 21.05 meters, and a total depth of three bays spanning 10.72 meters, covering an area of 420 square meters. The front of the cave features three neatly arranged arched doorways built from regular stone slabs. The arched chamber consists of three interconnected bays with internal doorways. One stone stele from the second year of the Zhiyuan era (1342) of the Yuan Dynasty, two stone steles from the Qing Dynasty, and one Yuan Dynasty tomb mound on the right side are preserved. It is the only rock cave temple in Putian. Yongxing Rock Cave Temple was designated as a Fujian Provincial Cultural Heritage Site in 2001.
