Yan Zhen Palace

Yan Zhen Palace is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

Yan Zhen Palace is located in Qitou Natural Village, Aoshan Village, Sanjiangkou Town, Hanjiang District, Putian City, dating back to the Qing Dynasty.

Description: Also known as Yan Xun Palace or Zhaoling Ancestral Temple. Originally built during the Song Dynasty, it was reconstructed in the Ming Dynasty, renovated in the Qing Dynasty, and further restored in modern times. The building faces southwest and is situated on a northeast axis. It has a total width of seven bays (25.3 meters) and a depth of 23.6 meters, covering an area of 597 square meters. It is a two-courtyard corridor-style structure. Along the central axis are the front courtyard, entrance hall, patio, and main hall. The main hall is seven bays wide and five bays deep, with a gable-and-hip roof and a hybrid wooden frame structure of raised beams and interlocking brackets. On both sides of the patio in front of the main hall are roll-roofed corridors, and small patios lie on either side of these corridors. The palace primarily enshrines the Three Hall True Lords and Chen Yinggong, the Song Dynasty’s Loyal and Righteous Marquis.

Protected area: 10 meters north-east beyond the mountain gate, 10 meters south-west beyond the front courtyard edge, 10 meters north-west beyond the Dengying Pavilion, and 10 meters south-east beyond the Baoguang Spring.

In 2018, Yan Zhen Palace was designated as part of the ninth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage sites by the People's Government of Fujian Province.

Aoshan Village: Overview of Aoshan Village

Aoshan Village, formerly known as Yan Zhen Village, is located in the eastern part of the town. It borders Xinghua Bay to the east, Dongqing Village to the west, is adjacent to Jing Shan Village to the south (4 kilometers from the town government), and connects to Houguo Village to the north (2 kilometers from National Highway 324). The Fuzhou-Xiamen Expressway has an interchange in the village.

The village covers an area of 3.6 square kilometers, comprising 8 natural villages, 24 villager groups, 1,386 households, and 5,576 residents.

The Yan Zhen Palace in the village is a municipal-level cultural heritage site. Originally built in the Song Dynasty, it is situated atop Yan Zhen Mountain.
