The former site of Dongdu Lenin Primary School is a classic red tourism destination.

The former site of Dongdu Lenin Primary School is located in Zhending Natural Village, Zhentou Village, Dongquan Town, Hanjiang District, Putian City.

In late 1928, under difficult circumstances where the leadership of the Putian County Committee of the Chinese Communist Party was weakened and the revolutionary situation was on the decline, Wang Yuji was appointed by the Fujian Provincial Committee to take over as the Secretary of the Putian County Committee of the CCP. The members of the county committee included Chen Tianzhang, Wu Mengze, Wang Jixiu, Guo Shouluan, Zheng Zhen, Guo Xiaoyun (female), Chen Zhaofang, Wu Chengbin, Chen Guangqian, and others. After deliberation, the county committee decided to shift the focus of their work from urban areas to rural areas, changing their methods of struggle from legal to underground. The committee leaders went deep into the grassroots to consolidate, reorganize, and develop the organization. They also restructured the legally established farmers' associations that had been operating under the name of the Kuomintang into secret Peasants’ Alliances. Chen Tianzhang and Wang Jixiu separately founded a Lenin Primary School in Jiangkou and Dongdu respectively (disguised as private schools), which served as underground communication hubs and bases for training young revolutionary cadres. The principal of Dongdu Lenin Primary School was Wang Jixiu, with students including Huang Guoyu, Wang Zhao Kai, and over 50 others. Lin Zeyun was assigned to oversee teaching. The school aimed to spread Marxism-Leninism and cultivate revolutionary successors, specifically enrolling children from poor farming families, members of farmers’ associations, and offspring of Red Army guerrillas. It was divided into three levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Later, due to repeated attacks on the Ausuo base area by the enemy, the school was forced to close.

The former site of Dongdu Lenin Primary School is a single-story, earthen-wood structure consisting of three connected rooms, facing south with a total floor area of 117 square meters. In December 2011, the Party History Research Office of the Putian Municipal Committee of the CCP designated it for protected status.
