The former residence of Su Hua is a classic red tourism attraction.

The former residence of Su Hua is located in Toutou Natural Village, Guanlin Village, Qiulu Town, Hanjiang District, Putian City.

Su Hua (1908–April 2008), originally named Huang Defu, was a native of Qiulu Town, Hanjiang District. She studied at a church school and worked as an elementary school teacher after graduating from middle school. After 1926, she actively engaged in revolutionary struggles, mobilizing the masses widely and joining the Great Revolution movement. In July 1931, she joined the Communist Party of China and successively served as secretary and committee member of the Putian County Committee of the CPC, in charge of women’s movement work. In the winter of 1933, she was transferred to work at the Fuzhou Central Municipal Committee. In April 1934, after the municipal committee was dismantled, she returned to Putian and served as the secretary of the women’s committee of the county committee. During the three-year guerrilla warfare period, she first led revolutionary struggles among the masses in the coastal areas of Putian, then carried out mass work and logistical support in the Changtai and Putian–Yongtai border guerrilla zones. In February 1937, after the main leaders of the Minzhong Special Committee were arrested and killed, she was elected as a committee member of the newly established Minzhong Working Committee of the CPC, focusing on assisting the committee secretary Liu Tujun with political and ideological work. In June 1938, the Fujian Provincial Committee decided to divide the Minzhong Working Committee into three central county committees in Putian, Fuqing, and Quanzhou, appointing her as the secretary of the Putian Central County Committee. During her tenure, she vigorously mobilized urban and rural masses to carry out the anti-Japanese salvation movement. In July 1939, she was elected as a committee member of the Fujian Provincial Committee of the CPC. In the winter of 1941, she was transferred to the provincial committee to handle political communication work, traveling annually between northern Fujian, the Min River region, and central Fujian. With firm conviction and strong perseverance, she crossed mountains and traversed enemy lines, completing her missions with excellence. During the Liberation War period, she set up an underground communication station in downtown Fuzhou, responsible for maintaining contact between the provincial committee and local committees, while also actively conducting united front work among upper-level members of the Kuomintang. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, she held various positions including committee member of the Fujian Provincial Committee of the CPC, director and party group secretary of the Fujian Women’s Federation, delegate to the First National People’s Congress, member of the Fourth National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, member of the Second and Third National Women’s Federation Committees, and preparatory group member of the Fujian Advisory Commission. She retired in 1985.

The former residence of Su Hua is a two-story building made of earth and wood, constructed in 1920. It has three rooms on the east side of the main hall and two on the west, totaling six bays, covering an area of 300 square meters. Due to years of disrepair, the walls have severe cracks, and parts of the roof framework and beams have decayed.

The village committee is based in Yantin Natural Village and governs 10 natural villages and 9 villager groups. The settlement is shaped like an oval. Guanlin Village is known for its talented people, beautiful environment, abundant local specialties, and the renowned and historic Nantan Natural Hot Spring. It is also a base area of the revolutionary old district. The village is famous throughout the province for its loquats and longans.
