The former site of the Houyang Liaison Station is a classic red tourism attraction.

The former site of the Houyang Liaison Station is located in Houyang Natural Village, Xiayang Village, Dayang Township, Hanjiang District, Putian City.

In August 1948, after the headquarters of the Minzhong Regional Committee of the Chinese Communist Party moved to Jinzhi Village, Dongzhang Town, Fuqing, Rao Yunshan and Cai Guangyu were sent to Dayang to establish a revolutionary base. With the strong support of Cai Guangyu’s father, the enlightened gentry Cai Pingyuan, Rao Yunshan and Cai Guangyu quickly made progress in their work. They recruited members such as Cai Guangyu, Cai Guang’ai, Cai Chunlian, and Cai Hongji into the Party in Houyang. Then, through Cai Guangyu, Lai Du and Lin Guiying were recruited in Qiongfeng, and the Houyang Branch of the Chinese Communist Party was established, with Cai Guangyu serving as the secretary. Subsequently, under the unified organization of the branch, Party members went deep into other villages to mobilize the masses, organize poor peasants’ associations, and carry out struggles against taxes, levies, high rents, and high interest rates. Revolutionary activities soon expanded to more than ten villages of various sizes, including Xiayang, Qiongfeng, Nanling, Denglu, Chongxing, Chekou, Ruiyun, Xiazhou, and Houlong. In particular, the underground liaison station set up at Cai Chunlian’s home in Houyang became an important stronghold for the Minzhong Detachment, making significant contributions to intelligence transmission, sheltering guerrilla fighters, and hosting revolutionary comrades passing through.

The former site of the Houyang Liaison Station is a two-story, five-bay earthen and wooden structure facing south, covering an area of 300 square meters.

Dayang Township: Located in northern Putian, at the junction of Putian, Fujian, and Yongtai counties/cities, Dayang Township covers an area of 120 square kilometers, has 18 administrative villages, and a total population of 15,934.
