Former Site of the Minzhong Detachment Printing Factory

The former site of the Minzhong Detachment Printing Factory is a classic red tourism attraction.

The former site of the Minzhong Detachment Printing Factory is located in Yangbian Natural Village, Yang Village, Dayang Township, Hanjiang District, Putian City.

In March 1949, the headquarters of the Minzhong Detachment established an underground printing factory at Wan’an Temple in Yang Village. It printed various materials including documents, notices, and propaganda from the Minzhong Detachment headquarters. These included the Party’s “Three Main Rules of Discipline and the Eight Points for Attention,” Chairman Mao’s “On Protracted War,” notices from the Minzhong Detachment headquarters, study materials for guerrilla fighters, as well as various receipts and vouchers, providing logistical support for the work of the headquarters. The temple still preserves the printing press, wax plates, waxed paper, and other printing tools used by the Minzhong Detachment Printing Factory at that time, along with printed documents, leaflets, and receipts.

The former site of the Minzhong Detachment Printing Factory is Wan’an Temple, originally named Xiangshi An, which was first built in the 14th year of the Jiaqing reign during the Qing Dynasty (1809 AD). It was burned down in the flames of war in the autumn of 1949. In 2001, local residents voluntarily donated funds to rebuild the single-story earthen-wooden structure temple on the original site, restoring it to its original appearance, and renamed it Wan’an Temple.
