Former Site of the Command Post of the Central Fujian Detachment

The former site of the command post of the Central Fujian Detachment is a classic red tourism attraction.

The former site of the command post of the Central Fujian Detachment is located in Dengluzhai Natural Village, Chongxing Village, Dayang Township, Hanjiang District, Putian City.

On July 28, 1949, after one month of preparation, the Nationalist Army gathered over 3,000 troops including traffic police, militia, and other irregular forces from Fuqing, Putian, Yongtai, and Xianyou counties, and attacked Dayang from four directions, attempting to annihilate the command post of the Central Fujian Detachment in one fell swoop. Under the unified command of the leadership of the command post of the Central Fujian Detachment and the advance team of the People's Liberation Army, three squads of the detachment’s guard battalion and one company of the PLA, totaling about 500 personnel, engaged in counter-"mopping up" operations. The battle lasted until the afternoon of July 31. Faced with a significant disparity in strength, the command post of the Central Fujian Detachment led their forces to voluntarily withdraw to the mountainous areas along the border of Putian and Yongtai, taking position at Dengluzhai and continuing activities near Dengluzhai and Wushishan. In the afternoon of July 31, after occupying Dayang, the enemy troops looted and set fire extensively before retreating toward Fuqing on August 1.

The former site of the command post of the Central Fujian Detachment is a two-story building constructed of earth and wood, with five rooms on each floor. Two rooms nearby have collapsed, and the total built-up area is 150 square meters. In December 2011, the Party History Research Office of the Putian Municipal Committee erected a memorial stele for its protection.

Dayang Township: Dayang Township is located in the northern part of Putian, at the junction of Putian, Fujian, and Yongtai counties, covering an area of 120 square kilometers.
