The Chaoyang Gate and Eastern City Ridge Ruins of the Ming Zhongdu are a cultural heritage protection unit of Fengyang County.

The Chaoyang Gate and Eastern City Ridge Ruins of the Ming Zhongdu are located in Fucheng Town, Fengyang County. Dating back to the Ming Dynasty, they are categorized as ancient ruins, covering an area of 50,000 square meters. They are listed as part of the second batch of cultural heritage protection units in Fengyang County, with the official announcement number Fengzheng [2016] No. 6.

Protected Area: Extends 10 meters outward from the edges of the currently preserved city wall ruins in all directions.

Construction Control Zone: Extends 50 meters east and west from the protected area; and 30 meters south and north.

Fucheng Town: Located in the northern part of Fengyang County, on the southern bank of the middle reaches of the Huai River, Fucheng Town covers an area of 178 square kilometers. It governs 30 administrative villages and 6 communities, with a total population of 193,000, including 78,000 agricultural residents and 115,000 urban residents.

Fucheng, the seat of the Fengyang County Committee and County Government, is the political, economic, and cultural center of the county, as well as a historical and cultural city of Anhui Province. With a long history, during the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods it belonged to the Zhongli State. It was under the jurisdiction of Haozhou Prefecture during the Tang and Song Dynasties.
