Fengyang Spring Tea

  Product Origin: Lishui

  Product Features: Rich tea aroma

Product Introduction: Fengyang Spring Tea is meticulously picked, with uniform tenderness and consistent length. Its shape resembles pine needles—tightly rolled, straight, and round, slightly pointed at both ends, with slender buds standing upright and fine downy hairs faintly visible. The color is dark green. When brewed, it gives off a strong aroma, with a fresh and mellow taste, emerald-green and clear broth, and bright, tender leaves. The sprouts stand upright, floating and sinking, resembling layers of green jade. The fragrance is truly intoxicating—just one sip refreshes the heart and leaves a lingering fragrance on the palate.

The newly developed Longquan Tribute Tea—Fengyang Spring Tea—has been awarded the Gold Award at the Second National Agricultural Expo, the Quality Award from the International Tea Tasting Committee in 2000, and recognized as a high-quality green tea in Zhejiang Province. In May 2001, the tribute tea Fengyang Spring passed the pesticide residue inspection by the Ministry of Agriculture's Quality Supervision, Inspection and Testing Center, meeting EU standards. This marks an important step forward in promoting the brand of green, ecological, and organic tea. Fengyang Spring Co., Ltd. owns 1,300 acres of premium tea gardens and produces over 1,000 kilograms of Fengyang Spring premium tea annually. Its products are sold to Shanghai, Jiangsu, Shandong, Fujian, and various regions across the province. The Longquan Municipal Government has designated Fengyang Spring Co., Ltd. as a municipal key agricultural leading enterprise and is implementing a plan to develop a 20,000-acre green, pollution-free tea base under the “Longquan Tribute Tea—Fengyang Spring” brand, to further boost the rapid development of Longquan’s tea economy.

Product History: According to the Longquan County Annals, tea production in Longquan dates back as early as the Three Kingdoms and Five Dynasties periods. During the Tang Dynasty, when Longquan was established as a county, its tea was renowned for its exceptional color and flavor, earning it a place as a tribute to the imperial court. By the Ming and Qing dynasties, Longquan was explicitly mandated to supply the court with premium tea. Historical records also indicate that the tribute tea from Longquan was produced at Xintangtang on the northern foothills of Fengyang Mountain (now Longquan Mountain), near Paradise Mountain—today’s area of the Improved Variety Farm. The region features deep soil layers, fertile land rich in organic matter, evenly distributed rainfall, and a warm, moist climate, providing ideal geographical and ecological conditions for high-quality tea production. Over time, the tribute tea faded into obscurity. To revive it, Fengyang Spring Co., Ltd. of Longquan City carefully cultivated tea trees in the Improved Variety Farm’s Fengyang Spring Tea Garden according to historical records and green production standards. The result is the restored—and even improved upon—green ecological tea known as “Longquan Tribute Tea—Fengyang Spring.”
