The Liu Kaiqu Memorial Hall is a classic red tourism destination and a patriotic education base.

The Liu Kaiqu Memorial Hall is situated in the beautiful and serene 4A-level Xiangshan Park in Huaibei City, Anhui Province. The building is nestled against the mountain and beside the water, facing south, with a solemn, simple, elegant, and classic design. It is a two-story antique-style glazed structure that combines traditional Chinese style with a modern touch, covering an area of 8,000 square meters and featuring an exhibition space of 3,200 square meters. There are six exhibition halls in total, and behind the main building lies the tomb of Master Liu Kaiqu, surrounded by lush pines and cypresses.

With the support of Madam Cheng Lina, Mr. Liu’s wife, and contributions from people across all sectors of society, the memorial hall currently houses a collection of 139 sculptures on display. Among them, 45 are sculptures by Liu Kaiqu himself, 39 are donations from renowned sculptors such as Wang Chaowen, Cheng Yunxian, and Ye Yushan, and 55 are molds, prototypes, and teaching models. Additionally, there are 231 pieces of traditional Chinese paintings, oil paintings, and calligraphy works on display, including 23 calligraphic and painting works by Liu Kaiqu, 61 oil paintings by Madam Cheng Lina, and approximately 100 pieces of calligraphy by famous artists such as Guan Shanyue, Li Xiongcai, Yang Lizhou, Li Duo, as well as Japanese friends Yamazoe Kenryu and Matsumoto Takeshi. The museum also preserves over 2,000 precious historical materials related to Liu Kaiqu’s life, studies, and work, including photographs, manuscripts, letters, appointment certificates, and books he once used.

Since its official opening to the public on April 5, 1995, the memorial hall has organized over 200 exhibitions by leveraging its fame and favorable display conditions. It has welcomed more than 1.5 million domestic and international visitors. The hall also offers free special visits for students from colleges, universities, and secondary schools. It has made significant efforts and positive contributions to inspiring national spirit, promoting traditional culture, fostering patriotism, and strengthening national cohesion.
