Century Square is situated in the heart of the new urban district, with the Huaibei Municipal Government to the north and the Huaibei Museum to the south. It is a completely open, static public square. The square spans 50,000 square meters, including 24,000 square meters of landscaped greenery and 4,500 square meters of water features. It is planted with more than 1,000 large-caliber trees and 150,000 flowering shrubs, along with 208 sets of various lighting facilities, including 85 courtyard lamps, 55 floodlights, 136 lawn lamps, 12 electronic flower columns, and 14 electronic flower pots.

Century Square is the largest in area, most heavily invested, most richly landscaped, most expansively watered, and most advanced in facilities among all squares in the city. Among its features is a musical fountain with a unique design and stunning water patterns. On summer nights, various fountain displays emerge in succession, competing in beauty and splendor. One particularly impressive display, reaching as high as 35 meters, creates the effect of a single column touching the sky.

Since its opening, Century Square has become a new highlight for summer leisure and entertainment in the area, receiving an average of 5,000 visitors per day. The “Splendid Summer at Xiangshan” series of cultural performances held from August 1 to August 3, 2003, further elevated the square’s cultural ambiance. On October 14, Anhui TV Station hosted a special opera program, *A Date at Flower Opera House*, at the square, which was also broadcast live via satellite. Century Square has now become an important venue and platform for public cultural activities in Huaibei, as well as a key window showcasing the city’s efforts in promoting spiritual civilization.
