TEDA International Sculpture Park

TEDA International Sculpture Park is located on the Third Street of Tanggu in Tianjin’s Binhai New Area, west of the TEDA Stadium. The park itself is not large, but it houses a substantial collection of sculptures from China, Sweden, Austria, the United Kingdom, Japan, France, Germany, and more.

As the park is located within the Third Street area of the development zone and is integrated into the overall planning of Third Street, the uniquely styled commercial buildings along both sides of the street, together with the vibrant commercial atmosphere, form a distinctive urban landscape of modern humanism with the park. At the same time, the redevelopment will use key points to influence the broader area, creating a rich yet orderly spatial form that integrates points, lines, and surfaces. This approach ensures that Third Street reflects the distinctive character of the development zone in terms of functionality, collective space, and external appearance.

To create a continuous and cohesive style for the development zone, buildings will feature a unified color scheme, consistent architectural style, and standardized LOGOs (logos), enhancing their distinctiveness and approachability. Through clever design, the overall style of the entire district will be harmonized.

Currently, at the intersection of Third Street and Nanhai Road, there is a small sunken plaza about two meters deep. The original design intention was to isolate the plaza from the bustling street, but this has resulted in limited accessibility for residents. A people-friendly urban area should encourage public participation in city life, yet Third Street currently lacks such a setting.
