Introduction The newly built Jiefang Road Commercial Street, with its comprehensive service functions, advanced and complete facilities, and an environment full of contemporary flair, forms a remarkable cultural landmark and has been hailed as the "Golden Street of the Binhai New Area."

The newly renovated Jiefang Road Commercial Street stretches 1,350 meters in total and is divided into three sections, among which the highlight is the middle section – a high-end golden commercial zone spanning 450 meters. The comprehensive renovation includes: constructing six new commercial facilities, renovating the facades of buildings along the street, installing night lighting, upgrading the road, and adding new ground facilities. The project’s total investment reached 390 million yuan, of which 350 million yuan was raised from social investments.

After the renovation, the Jiefang Road Commercial Street added a total of 127,600 square meters of new commercial space. Three squares were built along the street, and the entire area is equipped with comprehensive public service facilities. The designs are innovative, especially the sculptures, landscaping, and lighting, which are particularly unique. With the eastward shift of Tianjin's economic development strategy, our district has focused on building the Binhai New Area into a commercial hub, leveraging the advantages of the port to establish a modern logistics system. The completion of Jiefang Road Commercial Street has further enhanced the district’s commercial influence. According to expert estimates, by 2002, the street will help increase the district’s commodity sales from 6 billion yuan in 2000 to 7.5 billion yuan.
