The planned area of Tianjin Guogang Forest Park is located in the northern part of Dagang District, Tianjin, approximately 40 kilometers from the city center of Tianjin and 20 kilometers from Tianjin Port and the Economic Development Area. It enjoys excellent location and transportation conditions. The planning will integrate the advantages of the current conditions with land use requirements to form a spatial structure of “one core, one axis, and five zones.” According to different functions, the planned area is divided into a World Maritime Theme Park Resort, a Wetland Ecological Recreation Zone, a Presidential Farm Resort, a Golf Resort, a Forest Hot Spring Wellness Zone, an RBD International Style Leisure District, a Forest Adventure Sports Zone, a Water Sports Resort, a Tourism-themed Real Estate Zone, and an Ecological Landscape Corridor. The planned area will be based on ecological environment, driven by theme parks, focused on integrated resort development, and supported by tourism real estate.

Guogang Forest Park is a wetland-type forest park and will be constructed in three project phases, with full completion expected by 2015. The estimated total investment will reach 800 million yuan. According to reports, the Guogang Forest Park tourism area is at the center of the Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan triangle and the Bohai Rim Economic Zone. Its boundaries extend southeast to the midline of Baimi River, west to the West Drainage Canal, and north to the district boundary, covering a total area of 22.85 square kilometers. Of this, the land area is 17.71 square kilometers, and the water area is 5.14 square kilometers. The park features a diverse range of biological species, with over 120 types of woody and herbaceous plants across 45 families. It also provides habitat for a large number of wild rare birds, showcasing distinct characteristics of a plain forest and the unique landscape of a land-sea transitional zone. The core resources of this tourist attraction are its forest and wetland ecotourism resources, as well as leisure and recreational resources represented by golf. The functional zoning of the Guogang Wetland-Type Forest Park includes: a Forest Recreation Zone, a Wetland Park Zone, a Golf and Conference Zone, a Water Recreation Zone, a Forest Conservation Zone, an Ecological Residential Zone, and a Development Reserve Zone.

This tourist attraction will focus on developing four major projects: first, a Forest Recreation Corridor, which will not only serve a scenic function but also connect all forest recreation products through a touring route; second, a Wetland Ecological Trail, where wetland walking trails and boating routes will be designed and built; third, a Wetland Park, which will showcase the natural beauty of typical wetland landscapes; and fourth, a Lake Core Ecological Park, which will establish an ecological park on a lake island to offer various water recreation activities.
