Yingda Leather Jacket Museum

The Yingda Leather Jacket Museum is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

The Tianjin Yingda Leather Jacket Museum is located at No. 135, West 11th Road, Airport Economic Area, and officially opened to the public in October 2008.

The museum spans a construction area of 1,500 square meters and features a collection of over 220 leather jackets from ancient to modern times, from China to Europe, along with various leather jacket manufacturing tools and materials. These exhibits reflect the historical evolution of leather jackets, including a reconstructed leather goods trading market that seems to transport visitors back to a medieval village fair.

The museum serves as a microcosm of the progress in Chinese leather jacket technology, design, craftsmanship, and equipment. It will become a showcase center for leather jacket culture, a resource hub for leather apparel research professionals, an inspirational source for fashion designers, and an educational venue for consumers and leather jacket enthusiasts to learn about leather jacket culture.

This is a privately-run, non-profit, public-benefit museum. Establishing the museum is not only to showcase Yingda’s journey and development over more than a decade and highlight its leading position in China’s leather apparel industry, but more importantly, to rescue and preserve the cultural treasures of leather jackets, enrich the depth of Chinese fashion culture, promote national spirit, and foster exchanges and development with global fashion enterprises.

The museum not only fills a void in this category of museums in Tianjin and even across China, but also represents a significant step for Tianjin toward becoming a world-class city and an international fashion capital. With the grand vision of “building a century-old brand” and the development goal of becoming “Yingda of the world,” the leather jacket museum, which blends Eastern and Western fashion cultures, marks an important stride for Yingda toward joining the ranks of mainstream international fashion brands.
