The Dagang Oilfield Exhibition Hall is a patriotic education base.

The construction of the Dagang Oilfield began in the 1960s. Through the tenacious struggle and pioneering efforts of several generations of oil workers, a modern oil city was built on the once-desolate saline-alkali wasteland. Today, the Dagang Oilfield shines like a brilliant pearl on the coast of the Bohai Sea.

In 1992, the Oilfield Exhibition Hall was established in the Dagang–Sanhaoyuan area and underwent comprehensive renovation and expansion in 2004. The expanded exhibition hall covers an area of 3,400 square meters, with a building area of 8,314 square meters. It showcases the arduous yet glorious entrepreneurial journey of the Dagang Oilfield across different historical stages over the past 40-plus years through more than 130 physical objects, models, and over 240 historical photos. In 2007, it was designated as a Corporate Spirit Education Base by CNPC.

The exhibition hall displays a large number of precious historical photos, drilling bits, and physical items such as pipe wrenches and “Daodao Fu” uniforms. It also includes clay sculptures created by Tianjin’s renowned “Clay Figurine Zhang” that depict drilling production scenes, as well as the inscription by Comrade Deng Xiaoping during his visit to the Dagang Oilfield: “Strive to build the Dagang Oilfield into one of the largest oilfields in the country.” These exhibits reflect the iron-willed spirit of the Dagang Oilfield workers who forged monuments through hard work, their unyielding drive for exploration and progress, their innovative spirit in reform and development that dares to be the first, their never-satisfied pursuit of innovation, and their collaborative spirit of striving for excellence and advancing management and technical upgrades together.

The exhibition hall showcases the indomitable will of the Dagang oil workers who struggled diligently and dared to scale new heights. It carries forward the selfless dedication and fearless fighting spirit of the Daqing Spirit and the Iron Man Spirit, forming a tremendous spiritual legacy that commemorates the predecessors, educates future generations, and promotes positive values. In 2013, it was named a Tianjin Patriotic Education Base by the Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government.
