Cimu Mountain

Legend has it that Cimu Mountain was where Xiao Tong (later known as Crown Prince Zhaoming), the eldest son of Emperor Wu of the Liang Dynasty during the Southern Dynasties, studied. Originally, buildings within Zhaoming Pavilion included the Riverside Tower and the Revelation Pavilion, all of which were destroyed during military conflicts in the Xianfeng era of the Qing Dynasty. Zhaoming Pavilion was rebuilt in the sixth year of the Tongzhi reign (1867) as a three-story structure, but was later damaged again during the Republican era. Many poets and scholars throughout history have written poems and essays in praise of Zhaoming Pavilion. Among them, Sun Peilin of the Qing Dynasty wrote in his poem “Zhaoming Pavilion”: “A boat halts at Cimu Jetty’s head, / Zhaoming’s study pavilion veiled by pines overhead. / The talents of the Liang of Xiao all have passed away, / Yet mountain hues o’er Jiang’s waters stay green for aye.”

Cimu Mountain is located in the northern part of the city. Take bus No. 105 to Cimu Mountain Villa and walk from there.
