The Qixi Valentine’s Day in 2014 was dazzlingly spectacular! The "Taipei Dadaocheng Music and Fireworks Festival," organized by the Taipei City Government, will romantically commence on Qixi Valentine’s Day (August 2). To allow everyone to better experience this year’s theme of "Love Without Limits," in addition to arranging wonderful performances and stunning fireworks displays at the event site on the day...A series of activities will be launched around the Dadaocheng area starting July 26 to immerse the public in the sweet atmosphere of a romantic Lover’s Week and double the happiness felt!

The "Taipei Dadaocheng Music and Fireworks Festival" enters its 10th year. This year, it has expanded its invitation to well-known domestic and international performing guests to join the public for fun, including the bands Strong Point, Taffy Temple, as well as singers Chen Shih-an and Zhu Li-jing, who will perform live with high energy. This year also marks the 80th anniversary of the release of the classic Taiwanese folk song "Rainy Night Flower," and Strong Point has specially adapted a rock version of "Rainy Night Flower," which will be performed live at the Dadaocheng Music and Fireworks Festival. Additionally, the Okinawan live house rock band "Skunk," which won the Okinawa Teens Live 2010 competition at the Asian International Music Festival, will also deliver energetic performances to celebrate love in Taipei this Qixi.

This year’s fireworks festival not only integrates surrounding business district activities, including those from the Datong District Office, Taipei Underground Street, Ningxia Night Market, and the Back Station/Huayin Business District, which have introduced a range of beneficial discounts and culturally unique events, but also speciallycollaborates with Ningxia Night Market to launch the "Paper Panda Love Without Limits 214 Lover’s Banquet" from July 31 to August 2.For just 214 NT dollars, couples can enjoy Ningxia Night Market’s signature snacks. There are 10 sets available daily, featuring two types of meal sets — "Two Little Innocents" and "Lovebirds Together" — each consisting of five different local snacks. Lovers can savor the local delights of Ningxia Night Market accompanied by paper pandas. Reservations can be made by phone starting July 26 to enjoy the meals. In addition, the city government has also collaborated with Taipei City’s Xiadai Chenghuang Temple, commissioning Litingxiang Cake Shop to make "Marriage Destiny Cakes" symbolizing good marital fortune, helping citizens find their perfect matches.

On the day, there will also be the Matsuyama Daka Lion Drum Team from Japan, specialists in professional lion dancing, teaming up exclusively with Taiwan’s immensely popular among children, the YOYO Family from Eastern TV, for a jointly exclusive performance that is 100% eye-catching. The public is welcome to bring family and friends to Dadaocheng Wharf on Qixi Valentine’s Day to admire the beautiful fireworks and spend a romantic holiday together. Additionally, at the event site, whether you are a couple, friends, colleagues, or even pets — as long as you are wearing matching outfits or accessories or decorations, take a photo, check in, and upload it to redeem a sweet chocolate treat and show your deep love on Qixi Valentine’s Day.
