Planning to gather with friends by the river for a barbecue and moonlit fun during the Mid-Autumn holiday? Taipei City has opened 19 riverside parks, allowing people to enjoy the cool breeze along the embankment while barbecuing and admiring the moon. New Taipei City, on the other hand, advocates picnics over barbecues, with only the Indigenous Peoples Theme Tribe Park in Shulin District allowing barbecues. Other riverside parks in New Taipei do not permit barbecuing.

When barbecuing in designated areas, remember to clean up after yourself and help maintain environmental cleanliness. Do not start open fires or barbecues directly on lawns or facilities such as tables and chairs to avoid danger.

To maintain order and cleanliness, patrols will be conducted during the Mid-Autumn period to prevent unauthorized entry into non-designated areas for barbecues or outdoor cooking that could cause hazards.

Taipei City riverside parks that allow barbecues and picnics—normally open areas:
(1) Normally open areas:
1. Yanping Riverside Park: Designated area at the plaza in front of Yanping Temple.
2. Huazhong Riverside Park: Designated area under the Huazhong Bridge on the north side of the bike path (currently under construction, temporarily closed).
3. Daonan Riverside Park: Designated plaza between the riverside parking lot upstream of the Left Bank MRT Bridge and the bike path, and the circular plaza under the Yuanguang Bridge ramp on the Left Bank.
4. Baiying Right Bank Riverside Park: Designated area at the plaza under Baiying Bridge.
5. Baiying Left Bank Riverside Park: Designated area at the plaza under Baiying Bridge.
6. Chengmei Left Bank Riverside Park: Designated area on the waterside walkway from 320 meters upstream to 130 meters downstream of Rainbow Bridge.
7. Chengmei Right Bank Riverside Park: Designated area on the waterside walkway between Chengmei Changshou Bridge and Mai Shuai No. 1 Bridge.
(2) Additional Mid-Autumn Festival opening areas: (Opening hours: from 5 p.m. the day before the Mid-Autumn holiday until midnight on the last day of the holiday)
1. Rainbow Riverside Park: Designated area under Mai Shuai No. 2 Bridge.
2. Guanshan Riverside Park: Designated area under the Neihu Highway Bridge.
3. Meidi Riverside Park: Designated area under Dazhi Bridge.
4. Dajia Riverside Park: Designated area under Dazhi Bridge.
5. Yuanshan Riverside Park: Designated area around the ice-skating rink upstream of Zhongshan Bridge.
6. Baiying Left Bank Riverside Park: Designated area under Zhuomei Bridge.
7. Daonan Riverside Park: Designated area under the Wan Shou Bridge on both the left and right banks.
8. Jingmei Riverside Park: Designated area under Beixin Bridge.
9. Fuhe Riverside Park: Designated area under Fuhe Bridge.
10. Machangting Memorial Park: Designated area in front of the Machang Evacuation Gate Plaza.
11. Huazhong Riverside Park: Unused idle space under Huazhong Bridge (currently under construction, temporarily closed), with only the downstream circular plaza and the area under Guangfu Bridge open.
12. Shuangxi Riverside Park: Designated areas under Fulín Bridge on the Left Bank and Wenchang Bridge, as well as designated areas under Yùnóng Bridge on the Right Bank.
