The Tomb of Lin Sanzhi is located within the Lin Sanzhi Art Museum in the Ma'anshan Stone Forest Scenic Area, at Niuzhu Community, Caishi Subdistrict, Yushan District, Ma'anshan City, about 80 meters to the right of the scenic area’s main entrance. After Mr. Lin Sanzhi passed away in 1989, he was buried alongside his wife in Little Jiuhua Mountain in Caishi Town, Ma'anshan City. In 1996, the Ma'anshan municipal government invested in relocating the couple’s joint tomb to the left of the “Jiangshang Caotang” (Riverside Thatched Hut) inside the Lin Sanzhi Art Museum in the Stone Forest Scenic Area, where a memorial garden was established. The garden covers an area of approximately 200 square meters. At its center lies the joint tomb of Mr. Lin Sanzhi and his wife, Sheng Decui, built from black granite in the shape of a seal. The front of the tomb bears an inscription by Qi Gong that reads “Tomb of Mr. Lin Sanzhi,” while the back features an epitaph. At the highest point of the garden, a semi-circular granite screen wall bears a eulogy inscribed by Zhao Puchu: “Mighty brush shines through the ages; great rivers spring from diverse sources.” During construction, the original ancient trees were preserved, and the layout follows the natural terrain in a terraced design, creating an atmosphere that is both solemn and harmoniously integrated with nature. The site is now a provincial-level cultural heritage protection unit.

Lin Sanzhi developed a love for painting and calligraphy from a young age. In 1972, he rose to fame during a Sino-Japanese calligraphy exchange competition, and figures such as Zhao Puchu and Qi Gong praised his poetry, calligraphy, and painting as the “three perfections of our time.” Lin Sanzhi is a classic example of someone who achieved greatness later in life. It was precisely because he became widely renowned relatively late that decades of diligent study by lamplight nurtured the spirit, rhythm, meaning, and charm in his calligraphy, elevating it to an extraordinary and sublime level. Moreover, it is because his calligraphy possesses such a transcendent quality and deep, enduring artistic conception that those in the calligraphy world continue to discover more, gain greater insight, feel deeper emotions, and achieve higher levels of appreciation the longer they study his work. His contributions to the modern Chinese calligraphy art scene can truly be described as “immeasurable.”
