Caoshan Site

The Caoshan Site is a cultural heritage protection unit in Ma'anshan.

Caoshan Site: Located about 100 meters south of Yangjia Natural Village, Xiexiang Village, Yintang Town, Yushan District. It dates back to the Shang and Zhou dynasties.

On November 9, 2010, the Caoshan Site was designated as part of the fourth batch of municipal-level cultural heritage protection units in Ma'anshan.

Protected area: 10 meters beyond the site itself; construction control zone: 20 meters beyond the site itself.

Yintang Town: Yintang Town is situated north of Dangtu County and south of Ma'anshan City. It borders Weiping Mountain to the east, the Yangtze River to the west, and Cai Shi River to the north. The terrain is characterized as “two mountains, three waters, and six parts farmland,” making it a semi-hilly area. The town is 55 kilometers north of Nanjing and 35 kilometers south of Wuhu. It lies within the southern district of the Ma'anshan Economic Development Zone, enjoying a prominent geographical advantage. National Highway 205, the Ma’anshan–Wuhu Expressway, Yinxiang Road, and Yinhuang Road all run through the town, providing convenient transportation. The area is rich in mineral resources such as high-grade iron ore, pyrite, and kaolin.
