Xiaoshan Museum is located in Xiaoshan District, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. It is a local historical and art museum affiliated with the Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, News, and Publication of Xiaoshan District, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province.

The main functions of Xiaoshan Museum are cultural relic collection, exhibition display, academic research, and social education, as well as the protection and management of cultural relics across the entire district. Its mission is to inherit the history of Xiaoshan and promote ceramic culture. The service philosophy is to take cultural relics as the foundation and visitors as the core. The service slogan is “Explore visitors’ wishes, meet their expectations.” It has been designated as a Second Classroom Activity Base for Teenagers and Students in Hangzhou City, a Patriotic Education Base in Xiaoshan District, and an External Image Base in Xiaoshan. It serves as an important window for Xiaoshan to conduct cultural exchanges and promote traditional historical culture.

The new building of Xiaoshan Museum is located at the foot of Beiganshan Mountain, covering an area of 30 acres with a construction area of 10,000 square meters. It features a simple yet majestic exterior and houses several exhibition halls including the Porcelain Dawn Hall, Historical Figures Hall, Fine Artifacts Hall, Calligraphy and Painting Hall, Multimedia Hall, and Temporary Exhibition Hall. The museum currently holds over 4,000 artifacts, ranging from the Neolithic Kuahuqiao Culture to the Ming and Qing Dynasties, as well as modern and contemporary periods. These include five major categories: ceramics, calligraphy and painting, metalwork, jade and miscellaneous items, and ancient books. With a wide variety and exquisite pieces, these collections are powerful evidence of Xiaoshan’s long history and splendid culture.
