Hangzhou Polar Ocean World is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Hangzhou Polar Ocean World is located in Wangwangjiashanwu Valley by Xianghu Lake in Xiaoshan, adjacent to the Kuahuqiao Museum and about a 20-minute drive from downtown Hangzhou. Covering an area of 200 acres with a total investment of 600 million RMB, it is one of the largest ocean parks in China and the largest marine-themed park in East China. The Hangzhou Polar Ocean World, designed to 4A-level tourist attraction standards, covers 30 acres and is the core project of the 200-acre Xiaoshan Children’s Park.

Hangzhou Polar Ocean Park is China’s largest polar oceanarium, integrating polar animal exhibits (featuring the most diverse range of cetaceans) with polar landscape experiences. The polar ocean park has a total water volume of 15,000 tons, displaying 16 species of polar animals, totaling over 150 individuals, as well as 1,000 species of fish, numbering more than 20,000. It also features 20 large-scale amusement facilities and a Bird Forest. Hangzhou Polar Ocean Park showcases the world’s most representative polar animals and employs the most fashionable and advanced theme park design, construction concepts, and techniques to offer visitors a magical, joyful, and dreamlike global journey through the polar oceans—all within the park.

Hangzhou Polar Ocean Park has set up more than ten exhibition venues and leisure experience areas, including “Whale Sea Adventure,” “Polar Kingdom,” “Arctic Adventure,” “Whale & Dolphin Bay,” “Seal Harbor,” “Penguin Plaza,” “Underwater World,” “Frozen Sea Voyage,” “Ocean Whale Wonder,” “Rainforest Spectacle,” “Golden Coast,” “Coral Pavilion,” “Jellyfish Pavilion,” “Mediterranean Town,” “Fisherman’s Wharf,” “Ocean Theater,” “Polar Joy Theater,” “Whale & Dolphin Bay Restaurant,” and “Ocean Conference Hall.” Through interactive exhibits, it displays rare polar and marine animals from around the world, such as polar bears, beluga whales, walruses, Arctic wolves, Arctic foxes, and seals from the Arctic… king penguins and macaroni penguins from the Antarctic… as well as pilot whales, false killer whales, humpback whales, Pacific bottlenose dolphins, and various sea lions like the northern sea lion, California sea lion, and South American sea lion…

Hangzhou Polar Ocean Park boasts the most skillful polar animal performance stars, the largest whale and dolphin pool, and the grandest indoor polar ice spectacle... Here, visitors can not only get up close to polar bears and Antarctic penguins, have the opportunity to interact closely with polar beluga whales, but also experience the beautiful “Rainforest Spectacle,” journey across the Pacific, Atlantic, and Arctic Oceans, find themselves on the magnificent Antarctic continent, witness the thrilling “Whale & Dolphin Dance,” and enjoy the delightful performances of charming sea lion and walrus stars...

Additionally, a 100-meter-long underwater tunnel will be built to showcase hundreds of aquatic species; a “Dolphin Therapy Center for Children with Intellectual Disabilities and Autism” will also be established, using the ultrasonic waves emitted by dolphins to help young patients recover.
